Phillips Connect Launches SolarNet 8000 Series for Trailers

SolarNet 8000 aiims to enhance trailer tracking, safety, and efficiency with solar power and integrated smart sensors.

Phillips Connect has introduced the SolarNet 8000 series at the ATA Management Conference and Exhibition. It’s a solar-powered solution designed to enhance trailer operations within a connected fleet ecosystem. This system integrates real-time location tracking, cargo visibility, and tire pressure monitoring into a single wireless platform. Its goal is to streamline operations and improve safety, the company stated.

The SolarNet 8000 series offers continuous location reporting, ensuring fleets can monitor trailer locations and usage. Featuring larger solar panels and a high-capacity battery, the system maintains connectivity for extended periods without sunlight. This self-powered design allows for quick installation, bringing trailers online in minutes.

Equipped with a built-in cargo camera, the SolarNet 8000 series helps confirm trailer availability and improve scheduling accuracy. For advanced analytics, fleets can integrate with Phillips Connect’s CargoVision AI- and machine learning-powered solution.

The series supports Phillips Connect’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), providing alerts for pressure and temperature changes to prevent roadside issues. This data aids in extending tire life and enhancing safety.

The SolarNet 8000 series integrates with Phillips Connect’s smart trailer sensors, covering brakes, automatic tire inflation systems, wheel-end health, and more. This consolidation offers a comprehensive view of trailer health without additional wiring complexity, the company noted.
